Here are we back again with our statistical microscope for the new season of i-League and this time we have got loads of details to bring in front of you which would add new dimension to the national league of India. We hope you enjoy our analysis.
With 14 goals scored in 6 matches played in the first round of Airtel i-League the average goals per game comes out to be 2.33,Which is a very high aggregate.
Here is a pie-chart showing the contribution of each club towards the goals scored:
Goal Ratio - Percentage of goals scored by each club out of the total number of goals scored in round :
Pune FC, Shillong Lajong FC and United Sports Club top the group in terms of goals scored with the first two aggregating around 22% while the third having around 15% goals of the total number of goals scored.
If we just track-back our data, we get what we call "Goals Against Ratio" which will show you how did the teams (negatively) contribute towards the total goals conceded.
With Dempo SC and Mohammedan Sporting receiving a 3 goal thrashing they lead the chart here while Rangdajied leaking two goals against United SC sadly makes up the top three.
While just the 1st round of Airtel i-League is over, the number of goals of Away Team is significantly higher than the number of goals scored by Home Team.
Amount of Goals Scored by Home Team: 5 (35% of Total Goals Approx.)
Amount of Goals Scored by Away Team: 9 (65% of Total Goals Approx.)
We could have also featured other statistics regarding home and away goals but as it is only the first round, it should not be of any significance.
Lets show you an interesting statistics featuring a 3D Graph showing how the team's scored their goals in regards to the clock.
The 3D view of the graph is justified by the 3 axes:
X-Axis: Club Names
Y-Axis: Number of Goals Scored
Z-Axis: Quarter on which the goals were scored
Lets see some statistics about the players:
This is how the goal scorer's list looks. Raul Fabiani (Pune FC) and Cornell Glenn(Shillong Lajong FC) top the list with two goals each while 10 other players have registered their name in the goal-sheet with one goal each.
For an Indian Football fan it is a disheartening figure to know that out of the 14 goals scored only 3 were Indians while the rest 11 goals were scored by foreigners which makes a sorrow figure of only 21% goals were scored by Indians.
