i-League Transfers: Bengaluru FC sign Sean Rooney

Sean Rooney signs for Bengaluru FC
for 2013-14 Season

Sean Rooney has will again feature in the i-League and this time its for the newly formed i-League side Bengaluru FC. Bengaluru FC have thus completed their four foreigners quota as they had already signed Curtis Osano, John Johnson and John Menyongar. Sean Rooney is not new to Indian football fans having a stint with Salgaocar FC in the last season before signing for Australian side Blacktown City FC.

Though Sean Rooney did not had the best of times in i-League when he played for the Goan side, but the decision of the Bangalore based club comes after monitoring the progress of the 24 year old for Blacktown City FC where he scored 14 goals last season and also his past experience playing in i-League.

"I'm delighted to be back in India and it seems that this club is doing everything right, so it's good to be part of it. I did speak to a few people before signing and they all had good things to say about Bengaluru FC. Along with helping the team produce a good brand of football, the aim is obviously going to be winning trophies with them," said the 24-year-old forward on the eve of joining his new club.
