India U-16 win friendly game in Dubai


The Indian National U-16 team presently training in Dubai for the final phase of the AFC U-16 Tournament later this month defeated U-17 Al Kaleej Academy 4-1 in a friendly match at the Sharjah Stadium. India led 3-0 at the interval.

While striker Uttam Rai scored a brace, Lalramzauva  and Vanlalduastanga scored one apiece. This is the first of the three friendly matches which the team is supposed to play. The Indian team will later play two friendly matches against the U-16 UAE team.

India have been clubbed in Group D with Uzbekistan, Syria and China in the final phase which kicks-off in Tehran on September 22. India play Uzbekistan in their first match on September 23.
