Federation Cup 2011 Semi Finals
East Bengal vs Prayag United
Live on DD Sports and News Times at 6PM

Its the battle of the Kolkata clubs, but this time its Prayag United instead of Mohun Bagan. The winner of this match will face the Goan side of Karim Bencherifa - Salgaocar SC. Both sides are yet to taste defeat in this years Federation Cup. Prayag United spearheaded by their skipper Lalkamal Bhowmick could be termed as underdogs for the match but in no way are less competitive than their counterparts. Both of the teams had to sweat out hard in order to secure the qualification for Semi Finals. While Lalkamal will be the epicenter of all Prayag United's chances, East Bengal will be relying on Penn Orji to do the same job if Mehtab Hussain does not feature in the match for them. East Bengal's side would not have forgotten their opponent Prayag United( then known as Chirag United) when they(Prayag United) broke their 18 game winning streak last year in the Durand Cup. East Bengal will be hoping that the injury concerns  to several key players does not harm their chances in reaching the finals this time around. The list might seem demotivating to the East Bengal supporters as several key players: Mehtab Hussain, Tolgay Ozbey, Penn Orji, Raju Gaikwad have injury concerns.

East Bengal's latest recruit, Alan Gow, who have scored once in the Federation Cup 2011, will be available for selection after serving his one match suspension. Tolgay might not feature in the starting XI which will mean that Gow might have to pair up with Baljit Sahini in absence of Robin Singh(suspended due to two yellows). Hramanjot Khabra and Penn Orji might have to cover the midfield if Mehtab Hussain does not feature in the tie.

Prayag United will be banking on their all-foreign attack of Yusif Yakubu and Joshimar to score against Uga Okpara headed East Bengal backline. Lalkamal Bhowmick will have the pivotal role in the central region to feed their forwards.

The match will be broadcasted live on News Times and DD Sports from 6PM.
