Squad for AFC Challengers Cup 2012 Announced


Indian squad for the AFC Challengers Cup squad has been announced. The squad shapes up like this:

Goalkeepers: Subrata Paul (Pune FC), Arindam Bhattacharya (Churchill Brothers) and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (Indian Arrows).

Defenders: Denzil Franco and Gourmangi Singh (Both Churchill), Nirmal Chetri and Syed Rahim Nabi (both East Bengal), NS Manju (United Sikkim), Raju Gaekwad (Indian Arrows), Govin Singh (Salgaocar), Anwar and Mohan Raj (both Mohun Bagan).

Midfielders: Rakesh Masih (Mohun Bagan), Joaquim Abranches (Dempo), Baldip Singh (Salgaocar), Steven Dias (Churchill), Jagpreet Singh (JCT), Jewel Raja and Shilton D’Silva (both Indian Arrows).

Forwards: Sushil Singh (East Bengal), Sunil Chhetri (Chirag United), C.S. Sabeeth (Viva Kerala) and Jeje Lalpekhulua (Indian Arrows).

Chief coach: Bob Houghton; Assistant coach: Savio Medeira; Goalkeeping coach: Marcos Pacheco; Manager: Mandhar Tamhane

Indian team will hold its camp at Malaysia from March 15. The qualifiers are scheduled to be held from March 21 to March 25. India are grouped with Chinese Taipei, Turkmenistan and Pakistan.

India's fixture:

21st March: India vs Chinese Taipei
23rd March: India vs Pakistan
25th March: India vs Turkmenistan
