What Indian Football Needs

For the betterment of Indian football, some steps are quite mandatory to be taken:

Scouting
=======

It is a fact that except for 1 or 2 clubs, most of the clubs does not use scouts for spotting talented youngsters for the eventual benifit of the team. Most of the clubs rely on some already highlighted Indians or some established foreigners for that matter. What they need to do is to build their youngsters for the future of the club. For that they should keep some professional scouts for spotting raw talented youngsters from every possible part of our nation and bring them to the clubs academy for further nurturing their skills. Thats how one should build a club.

Lower Div Leagues/ U-18 Leagues/ Reserve Leagues
========================================
We have seen names like Lal Kamal Bhowmick, Branco Cardozo, Pachau Lalampuia and many more. Where do they actually stand now compared to their sparkling starts. Frankly speaking....Nowhere.

There is only one reason for that "Getting a chance". Yeah....most of the time the young talents are signed by big clubs and benched for making way for some Afro players. Bringing foreigners is also essential for a club as they bring on some physical strength to the squad which is a must for surviving a professional league. So what should the clubs do....well basically they are hand cuffed.

This is where AIFF can really come alive. With the inclusion of reserve leagues or Junior league running simultaneously with the I-League. The current Junior League is worth nothing which takes place for 1 month and then vanishes, strict rules are not followed which leads to bunch of overaged players playing for the clubs.

Even reserve leagues will be a huge boost as it will increase the national pool for making the future of Indian football bright. It will provide other players of the squad to have some match time and thus keeping them fit throughout.

Merchandising and Marketing
========================

This step will help us to be at the limelight at least in the Asian level. Except for one or two clubs, no club in Indian football has proper approach in marketing which effects the popularity of the game hugely. They can generate revenue by selling their jerseys which they rarely think. Not even the two Bengal giants give importance to proper marketing concept despite of having huge fan base. Even AIFF could not properly market the i-league with its previous media partners Zee.
Proper marketing of the game one important criteria for the much discussed and ever so essential AFC Criteria.

Proper Infrastructures
==================

Its crystal clear concept that without proper infrastructure one can't play attractive football. Even if u bring European Giants to Cooperage they will end up looking like Dempo. If you have a hard look at why the number of spectators who watch Indian football is almost negligible as compared to Indian Cricket, its all due to the pathetic ground conditions in here. Young football enthusiasts who comes to watch Indian football with an hope of finding some interest in the beautiful game easily gets demoralized by the quality of football they see. That is the sole reason why you see more EPL fans then i-league fans. If they get that quality here then why will they go for EPL. Until players get proper facilities like good training grounds and good ground to play on, they wont deliver much good.

These are only just few points out of many, that seems to be the hurdle in the path of Indian Football's development.
