PLS Update: Five teams sold with Barasat topping the charts

In the inaugural edition of the Premier League Soccer, the winning bids were announced for the six participating teams. While Barasat topped the list with a whopping bid of Rs.25 Crores, Haldia did not find a buyer.

Here is the list of the winning bidders along with the amount:

Barasat - Uro Infra Reality India Ltd.- Rs. 25.15 Cr.
Siliguri  -  Aajay Consultants - Rs. 18 Cr.
KolkataCamelia Group - Rs. 11.5 Cr.
HowrahSyncsys Infotech - Rs. 9 Cr.
Durgapur Tulip Infonet - Rs. 7.6 Cr.

The winners of the bids have thus owned the team for the next 10 years. Meanwhile, the tournament might start with five teams only as Haldia did not receive any bids. The organizers however echoed that they are in no mood to hurry things up and thus are ready to wait.

On January 30th Monday, the auction for the overseas players including the icon players will take place. In the list of icons these are the six names:

Robert Pires, Hernan Crespo, Fabio Cannavaro, Robbie Fowler, Juan Pablo Sorin and Jay Jay Okocha

Of the six icons Argentine forward Hernan Crespo has been given the highest base price.
